Two applications in a week

Hi Everybody,

I just got accepted for a Credit Card limit of £1,500 on Wednesday (08/10/08).
However this could only pay off 25% of the Balance Transfer intended on my Barclaycard.
Please can you advise me if I run the risk of being declined if I apply for another with "capital one" within a week as I really want to manage my repayment accordingly.
THANKS

  • hi there ive applied for a few credit cards recently with some sucess i now have 3 0% cards with differing amounts on each all 0%

i still have a big debt with my main credit card but im actually paying less min payment and less interest on all !

i managed to get a card with egg, barclaycard and sky they total almost 4k ! ive only spent on one of them so the interest is next to nothing and i can now pay a bit extra every month to my card with the most interest !

have you tried calling your provider with the main balance and getting a different rate ??

it worked for me i have a 4.9 apr for 6 months not long but a bit of breathing space my end

hope this helps you a little  good luck

I requested 2 cards on the same week and the 2nd credit limit was quite a bit lower than the first. You can have about 3 credit checks in a 6 month period before your credit score is affected, but too many requests close together may look like you are desperate for credit and so possibly a bad risk.

Have you looked at getting a Virgin card? They have quite a good ofer on right now - just wondered why you were going for Cap1 as it seems this requires a very good credit rating.
