    As Lloyds now know that you are struggling with money, any money that gets paid into that account, they may try to keep to pay off the overdraft. You need to make sure that your next wage packet will be paid into your new account to prevent this. Not all banks will try to just allocate the money coming in themselves, but this is why you set up the other account - so that this is not a possibility.

    If the account is able to do direct debits, i see no reason why it wouldn't be able to do standing orders. If the site says it can then i would just go with that. If you find later that it can't, you will still be able to make payments in a branch as you will have the account details.

    Just a reminder for you to get another account opened up - the sooner the better, then you can notify the accounts department to get your wages transferred.

    Hi George,

    Bank account now opened with Barclays (basic bank accoutn with cash card - so cant punt online with it either). Spoke to my case manager at Payplan today - getting things moving pretty fast which is superb. Feeling tons better already!
