Reduced schedules/stopped routes??

I see that Wizzair have curtailed/stopped(?) their flights from Belfast International to Warsaw, ie you could check flights until the end of the year and now it cuts off week of 20th October, does anyone know if this is the end of their service completely or they will re-start sometime in the new year?

Secondly, are other operators doing the same or not going on about it?

Please list on this thread those doing it on the quiet!

Soon the only connection to Poland will be the Easy to KRK. Easy have also dropped VCE, SXF, PRG (surprised at the PRG). Aer Lingus have dropped BUD and GVA. They have also scaled back their LHR for winter. Jet2 have practically closed up shop for winter with service only to LBA and a ski flight at the weekends.
Reduction in capacity was always on the cards and has been debated here before but the current dismal economic climate has resulted in a larger correction than anticipated.

Jetboy, do you know if Wizzair will start flights to Warsaw again in spring? They now don't list either destination Warsaw/Krakow from Belfast?

Chances of anyone else starting a new route to Poland next year, how early do you find out about these things....do share!!!

To be honest I don't know anything about expansion next year (yet). Jet2 have already declared their intentions with routes ex BFS next year, I don't think you'll see anything new from Easyjet at all unless they start routes that originate from Europe that happen to feed into BFS but I would doubt it. That leaves a return by Wizz or a new service from Aer Lingus. Wizz seem to be retreating towards their home patch of Eastern Europe at present. EI have launched a new service to Munich. Perhaps in time that'll be dropped in favour of Poland or similar.
