I Need Some Suggestions Please Ladies!

Hi Everyone

I have this beautiful dress which I bought last year and ended up not being able to wear it because I couldn't get the right underwear for under it.

The straps look like they're normal shoulder straps at the front, but they cross over at the back and it's quite low down too. I did take it with me last year to try wearing with different bras, etc, but they were all either too high up at the front and showed above the front of the dress or were too high at the sides and the back and showed through again.

I really would love to be able to wear it to a ball next weekend, but have no idea what else to try wearing under it?

Any suggestions please? Oh I should have said I have huge boobies, which makes the problem even harder to solve! lol

    Hi

Wonderbra do a great bra with a variety of straps (I got mine from matalan for £20 but had loads of wear)

Its low at front so wouldnt show above dress, yet has a strap to make it into low back.

    Worth checkin out!!

(They do them all sizes as well i think!)
  • You can get some great multiway bras, have a shop around. Go into places like M&S, La Senza etc and ask an assistant, explain the dress and what you're looking for and see what they suggest. Good luck! :)

    Great suggestion. :T

Maybe you could take your dress along too to make sure everything fits properly.

    I'm a 32E so not small either.

For one very tricky dress I got a bra from Debenhams which was basically two quite low cups which sat over the boobs, and the bra itself was then stuck with some sticky tabs at the side of the body just under the underarms. So there was nothing at all showing at the back, and the front was quite low. I wouldn't say it gave great support - certainly wouldn't have run for a bus wearing it - but it was adequate for an evening. My boobs weren't sitting round my waist and the shape under the dress looked very nice. Perhaps this might be an option?

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

I actually took it with me last year and went into M & S etc but none of the bras were any good, they all showed.

I don't think Wondebra go up as far as DD or E cups??

Nicki that sounds good, do you know if they still do these and what they were called at all?

I had to laugh at you saying:

  • Have you tried bravissimo? you might be able to tell by looking if the style worked or not, and they will take it back if it's no good.

Otherwise I'd say go to a local/specialist lingerie store and ask for advice. The chain stores are c**p at this sort of thing. I finally got measured at a proper store a few months ago and went from a 36D to a 34E or F!

I used the stick on bra that Nicki mentioned for my wedding - I bought it at La Senza. Agree that it holds everything where they're meant to be but wouldn't push it with excessive jumping or running! Was fine for dancing.

The stick on ones are a little limited in sizing but seemed to come up big in the cup - I was a DD/E and used one labelled suitable for D and needed chicken fillets to provide the best shape. When you try it on you can't stick it but you can check that the cups are suitable if that makes sense!!
  • I'd recommend simplyyours.co.uk - particularly as another big bosomed girl and one usually on a tight budget.

They do really well priced bras, in a huge selection of sizes and styles so you should be able to find something that will help!
