Reality-bye bye car

Options
The harsh reality dawned last night when the HP car was re-possessed. I cried like a baby all night-having a drink or two didn't help either.
OH was fine but i think deep down most peed off about it.
A pleasant man called, efficient and polite, (he had to ask OH how to work the handbrake),paperwork signed-and off they went.

In all fairness have to say that the finance company were very good about it all, and even gave OH the chance to keep it, and negotiations would've been made regarding the arrears.
However, our only real option was for it to go.

For the trolls that crawl this site bankruptcy really is most peoples only option and it isn't a decision that is made lightly. There is a vast amount of upset, tears, sleepless nights that doesn't always go away when the deed is done.

Good luck to those who are having to make that decision now.
In our case we are talking about a car, we rent our house-therefore it can't be taken away, but there are people who will be losing their properties, their homes-and, for whatever reason in my opinion shouldn't be judged.

Sorry to witter on-but thanks to all you good uns on this site-your advice and just having the time to read and comment on peoples' posts is admirable.

Sorry for the loss of the car, and thanks for a wonderful post, its so true what you say here. I am/was fortunate that I had absolutley nothing to loose with my BC petition. I know people on here who have had a terrible battle with not only the BC, but loosing there homes and buisnesses because of it.

Hey Jo, sad as it is there will always be other cars, but you only get one shot at life, you did what you had to do, you'll bounce back eventually.

  • Hello Jo - I hope the world looks a bit brighter? You will get over it, and things will better. I had to walk away from a buisiness (also a home) but hey we are still here, still together...and so are you with your OH. Sadly the way things are going, I think lots of other people are about to have a reality check too. Stay off the booze (its no real help) hon, and thinking of you....
