i must admit to being quite intruiged by that website.

for things like this though, i tend to operate under the golden rule of "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

i'm still looking, but i haven't found any hidden costs above the £39 setup fee yet - the £6.83 a month seems reasonable if it's something that makes a decent amount.

a WHOIS search on the domain name reveals a UK Individual, with address information and the domain is registered until 2010.

    someone has tried them ..
I would first like to apologise as this is my first post, but I came across this post and had to say my bit as a consumer. I purchased a site from dpbuk some time ago and initially was quite pleased with how quick it was up and running. Shortly after i realised that some of the functions did not work and i was getting errors. I tried contacting dpbuk and was basically made to feel that it was my fault. I also found them to be rude and arregant on the phone. After a few months of not getting any sales and wasting hours and hours on it I gave up. Being a single mother i thought this would be a fantastic opotunity to earn an income and stay at home with the kids.

Since then i have managed to find someone else who provides a much better service and built a store for me and i am actually doing well. I have learnt as well that the sites provided by dpbuk are all templates and there are loads of sites out there competing against each other with very similar sites and same content, so they will never do well...ever.

My advise is avoid and find someone who is freelance.
    And ....

That one is a very interesting post. whoever runs dpbuk tends to trawl internet forums responding to posts about the company.

THIS .. seems a much better option ..

They have an interesting ebay package for a one-off £69.99 fee

  • Hello,
I looked into doing dropshipping a year ago and did extensive research on the various sites. All asked for money ! (surprise, surprise) and after looking at the prices you would buy and might sell for, there is very little profit involved.
A much cheaper and safer option is to contact business's direct and ask if they are willing to offer dropshipping or reselling. I did this and am in the process of short listing the business's who have offered me dropshipping/reselling free of charge. Most offer about 15 -20% off their website retail price.
    Thanks,
  • I signed up with this lot to sell Fishing Tackle.

I finally get an enquiry only to find out that the supplier has gone bust. I was not told by BPBUK and they are still advertising fishing sites on their website.

They have offered to change it over to another business but want £9.99 for a new domain.

If it seems to good to be true it normally is!!!!!

I can see how these sites might work but only after making further investments in SEO etc etc.

Please research something more before you diss it. A dropshipping website has to charge a joinup fee so that not everyone can access the products and spam the market with cheap products below retail price. Most dropshipping websites often give you your money back after making your first purchase on the site anyway.
    Thanks :money:
  • The problem with dropshipping is that you need to consider how people will actually find your site to be able to buy from it - even if the products are competitively priced. For example, what search terms will people type in to land on your site and how will you ensure that when they type that search term they have even a remote chance of finding your products?
There's such a lot more to it than just having a "site".
You can have the best looking website in the world, but if you don't know how to get people to land on it, it's of no use whatsoever. If, however, you know something about SEO (search engine optimisation), then maybe, just maybe, you have a chance. I know lots of people who have bought these sites, only to have no visitors for months, let alone sell anything.
I looked into this myself a few months ago when I began my own journey of trying to make money on the internet-in fact I looked at everything going. Mostly, it's all scams out there, I'm sorry to say. I do now make money by affiliate marketing, but believe me it's been really hard work and I've read and read and learnt and learnt until my eyes have literally bled! But..it does work.
There are no easy ways of making money on the internet really, but you can if you're prepared to work hard at it.

www.dropshipforum.co.uk if your interested in dropshipping. The people on there are fantastic. I'm still in the research stage but am definatly going to give dropshipping ago.

Anything you want to know about dropshipping can be found on there.

Most dropship companies charge a yearly fee bear that in mind anything from £9.99 to £100's dependant on what you want to dropship.
