Its still visable to any potential creditor on your credit file anyway until six years after your BR, and will be in the public domain on the london gazzete web site for ever, so i dont think it apearing on google is relavent regarding a catalougue seeing it to be honest,
You should have been aware of this before you went BR, it will stay with you for a long time yet im afraid, the fact this comes as a surprise to you worries me that you didnt understand what BR meant to youThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Strange that under `Data Protection Act 1998` that this info is visible. I`d be tempted to send a strong letter to the office that regulates `Data Protection` to contest your confidentiality under the Act.
After all ....without your consent....none of your personal details (even name & address)...should be made public knowledge.
Just my opinion but worth exploring nonetheless.

I would not expect that to be acceptable either - the fact of being BR being available is fine but not together with the address and other personal details.
Lets say someone not interested in bancrupcy googles your name, someone you do not want to be in touch with - ANYONE can find out where you live etc.
That surely can not be right?0 -
It could be that it's cached on your computer. Try is from somewhere you've never tried it from before.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I'm pretty sure that there's no Data Protection issue as somewhere in the paperwork is a statement that your details will be made public and published on the Register.
But once discharged, your details are only retained for three months so it should be disappearing soon.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

DFC, it is still in the London Gazette and will be for ever after. I've just Googled a friend who has been discharged for 7 years and there he was. Just done the same with someone who has just been discharged and the IS entry and the LG entry comes up.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

The Data Protection statement is on page 20 of the Guide to Insolvency
Remember that the DP Act does not mean that you have a right to have your details kept private - it means that the Data Controller must use your data properly. And where the law requires that your details are made public, then you cannot insist that they're not.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

Once public then, yes, it remains "in the public domain". Before the internet, one would have had to go to the Library and search through the back issues but, of course, they're now available online. Edit: [STRIKE]My "three months" comment was in relation to the Insolvency Register which I thought the OP was asking about - but even once it disappears from the Register, details will be still be accessible via an archive.[/STRIKE] Sorry - just re-read the OP ..... it's gone from the Register, but still "out there" somewhere in cyber-land .... probably an archive record and little to done, I think. It's just that archives are now online, rather than in dusty old LibrariesWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

The online Insolvency Register should not really be indexed/crawled by automated systems such as googlebot. I've raised this with the IS when this has happened before, and the system should normally be set up to prevent this while still allowing for a manual search by a real person.
Unfortunately web crawlers are constantly changing and adapting to index the variety of web content, which means that you are always playing catchup with them.
There have been similar issues in the past with entries in the London Gazette appearing on Google. That should not happen, and if you email the Gazette with the details they will take steps to prevent this happening. The IS take a similar stance I think, if I remember what they said in an email from ages ago.
Once the record is on Google it is out of their hands though. Especially here where it is the cache of a record that has since been removed. It will drop off the available Google search results reasonably soon.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
