ribbon printing machine .. any ideas ?

hope you dont mind me posting this here ,I have posted on other board's

I am after a printer that can be used on ribbon ,(florist poly type) I have seen this but seems out of my price range (£499)http://www.ribbonprint.com/index.php...17&Itemi d=43

I know nothing about printers ,so any advice would be greatly recieved

On Create and Craft TV, someone said that you could stick ribbon to printer paper with double-sided tape, print as normal, then carefully peel it off. I've never tried it but it's got to be worth a go You'd have to be careful lining up the words on screen to the right place on the paper though :think:

What you need to do is print your wording onto A4 (or longer) paper. Then get the ribbon you would like to print on and stick it over the print out. Feed it back through the printer and you will now ensure it prints onto the ribbon in the correct place.

If you are using Poly-type ribbon that has a plastic surface so the ink will smudge. You can buy special pouches that you can rub over the printing and it makes the ink dry.
