Bloody HSBC!

Grrr

I just called HSBC to advise them that within the next couple of weeks i will be paying off my overdraft in full and canclling it.

I though they'd be pleased, it means i won't be going into unauthorised overdraft again. Instead the guy on the phone started getting all huffy with me about the fact i'm in my overdraft right now and that if it's not sorted in the three weeks i said then they might close my account blab blah insert scare tactics here.

For goodness sake, i've just told you i'm paying it in full! Leave me alone.

And i felt like i'd been so clever and sensible getting it all sorted the way i did, now i feel like it's not gonna help at all :(

  • Pay it in full and get another account anyway. Then write and complain at their treatment saying that in the current climate you would have thought they would be grateful for customers who pay their way..bloomin oiks. ( not the last bit lol)

  • I'm actually researching new bank accounts, i'm intending to have a go at reclaiming the £100 per month of charges they seem to enjoy levying at every possible opportunity. *growl*

Actually, just thinking i've been so preoccupied with trying to sort out my debt that i've stopped paying attnetion to what's going on there....are we still able to claim?

    Hi whistleblower,
You can start a reclaim for bank charges, they will answer with "as the court case is ongoing" your case will be put on hold until the outcome has been settled (or something like that), unless you can prove a hardship case, then they will look into your claim HTH
