My Debt Free By Xmas 2009 Thread

Ok, so I thought I could do with the motivation to keep up my deisre to be Debt Free by ASAP...

I figure if I start my own thread and I fall by the way side, you guys can shame me into sorting it out.

I need to take a few days to a week to get the total figures as I have just shfted some debts around to low interest cards, one is a LOB 6.3% and the other is 0% for 15 months.

I think it is around the £6500 mark and I want it gone so me, the missus & our two kids can spend our money on ourselves.

:T :T :T :T :T

Keep your eys peeled for further updates and thanks in advance for your support.

  • Its going to be great to buy lots of amazing things without worry, and to go on holiday like new yourk etc...

This time for me it is going to go without me losing interest and spending un-wisely again
  • OK so I am closing to figuring out the total debt I owe, It is taking so long as I am currently moving debt around, I know I have £4325 @ 0% on virgin money and it is this balance that I have cleared my Egg & Barclaycard cashback balances off today, and also two overdrafts totalling £1240

Just waiting on my Barclaycard LOB 6.3% statement to come through so I can add this to my Virgin money card for my total debt.

It is around £7700 as I have cleared the overdrafts off saving me a bit more money in fees and interest.

Xmas 09 seems both a long way off and no time at all to clear a large balance like that.

Good luck with that. I will join in but unfortunately I will just have to attempt to be credit card debt free by Christmas 2009. If I can do that then at least I can throw all the money I am now paying on the CCs at the other debts I have !!

Good luck. If we are really disciplined and keep our jobs I hope to be debt free by April 2010 a year to 18months before I thought I was going to be! All through changing priorities, trying to boost income and asking for and getting a payrise etc...
