Virgin HD....

Does anyone have any opinions on this service?

What is it like compared to Sky HD?

What channels do you get?

How much does it cost compared to Sky?

I'm going to try to get Sky to drop their HD price below the £75 + £30 installation. If they don't I will threaten to go to Virgin. Am I cutting my nose off to spite my face?!!

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you can only get a V+ box which has the BBC HD Channel and some On Demand content.

Yes you are as virgin medias HD is pants......not half as many channels as Sky....i had V+ for 2 years waiting for them to get more HD channels....what a waste of money

    go sky

Oh yes for certain i'm not saying Sky is brilliant for the money buts iits alot better than VM for HD

I have freesat now and i'm more than happy because its erm FREE!!!

And if i want to watch something i have missed i just go to the TV stations website....so don't be suckered in by the watch something you missed on V+

I guess you get what you pay for!

  • I'm happy with V+.

There's only BBC HD which doesn't show an awful lot of content, but the upscaling and pvr facilities of the box make it worthwhile. I guess it's sweetened by the fact it hasn't, and doesn't cost me a penny extra.

  • I wouldn't recommend buying a box off ebay. You only rent them from Virgin Media as part of your subscription, rather than owning them, so it's not yours to sell!

Yup, and the smart cards needed are linked to the box at the VM end (so you can't just pop one from even one V box to another, let alone into a V+ box without VM activating/authorising the pairing).

Unfortunately I think you may have wasted your money :(
