MOORCROFT - Don't want to open can of worms

Hi Guys and Gals,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
On 24th April 2008, I sent a letter to Moorcroft disputing a claim which was apparently bought from Yellow Pages. I stated in that letter that a product was mis-sold to me by the Executive of Yellow Pages (basically he lied) and therefore I was refusing to pay the amount which they were chasing.
I am now coming to the end of my debt :j :j , and want to sort out this annoying issue. I have never received a reply from Moorcroft to date however, I don't want to 'remind' them just in case they start the threats again. However I also do not want to leave this hanging for some other DCA to try and jump on a bandwagon.
Anyone have any advice, I read somewhere that if a letter was not answered within 80 days or so, then a certain law comes in affect?

Hiya,
Don't know if you've tried this, but when I had a similar issue I called Consumer Direct for advice. http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/
They can't always give you the answers but they can often point you in the right direction (and lend a sympathetic ear!)
Good luck

Thanks Fizz, I will have a look at that, in the meantime any suggestions would be appreciated. x

If you've heard nothing since April, there's a good chance that the debt was returned to Yellow Pages and they have binned it.
If it reappears you can refer to your earlier letter.
I'd say the ball isin their court and they may have given up the game. I wouldn't chase it.0
