Ponzi is the guy to google for.
If they are legit (ish) you can make money by getting in early and taking a profit before they collapse. I've heard of people doing that (people I know).
Don't believe the forums that go with the sites - these are mostly people who have an interest in encouraging "investment".
Most people will lose.
