If you call Abbey to request moving onto interest only - they should allow that, although there may be a small fee.

You could say to them that you wish to go interest only and like to have the flexibility to reudce the capital via the overpayments facility - going interest only does not automatically mean being in financial difficulty.

Just ask them what the process would be.
