try https://www.yesasia.com for a jap import - they do the really neat limited edition not-available-in-the-uk pure white one too. OR you could try ebay for a second hand one?

Can't see the price dropping anytime soon as

(a) there is no directly comparable product
(b) there is massive demand for the unit even at its current price point
(c) Sony lose money on each unit as it is.
