Hi all
Just a quickie for a work mate who is struggling with BR. Is there a minumum level of debt that you have to have before you can go BR. Someone has told him you must owe more than £15k before you can do it.
Any ideas please

Hiya
To make yourself bankrupt in Scotland, you need to have debts of at least £1500. Not £15k.

Just a quickie for your workmate....they need to consider the fees involved in relation to the amount of debt - as unless you're made BR, they can be quite substantial in themselves. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... With IVA's you need to have a min debt of 15k so maybe thats where you are getting confused.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
