You dont mention whether its dial up or, adsl or cable but assuming its adsl this is a good wireless router.

You can order online and arrange for local pick up.
Use this with a USB adapter

or a pcmcia card

and your done. My wife uses this set up with the PCMCIA card as it is a bit more robust than the USB stick.0 -

Hopping on the back of OP - I have same probs and want to go wireless. I'm on dialup so can anyone point me at a site that will sort me out. I don't need the cheapest solution and I'd prefer not to have something plumbed into my usb which will take my kneecaps off every time I move! I've got a HP pavilion ze4900 if it helps and haven't a clue if it's got built in wifi. Thanks in advance to anyone who can steer me in the right direction.0

Also, look here for a better selection of cheaper routers:

I don't think you can get wireless dial-up. Hopfully someone will prove me wrong though...0 -
Thanks Gizmo, I wondered about that. Don't plan to swop my ntl dialup in a hurry as my sub is £15 pm and for that I also get £15 pm worth of phone calls, ergo internet costs me nowt - no brainer!0

If the laptop has wifi built in you just need the router....0
