I don't post very much Molly as I often have nothing to add to what the other excellent posters have already said, but I just wanted to wish you luck and advise you to do your sums carefully regarding the car.
It maybe that because of the lower running costs and depreciating value that you would be better off keeping it than buying an old banger. At least it is new and reliable with low running costs. The running and maintenance costs of another vehicle may soon start to add up.
My mother has an i car and her monthly running costs are far far less than I am paying for my little runaround so I am currently saving up for one of my own.

Oh thank you it was so lovely to log on today to see 3 new messages - particularly with such useful advice!
I think i agree about the car and it is a really good point - i have the car advertised so will see what happens and if it does sell then i will find something but if not it may be a blessing as my car is so cheap to run and the tax is 35/month - unbeatable!
I do sell an awful lot of stuff on ebay and i make various things too - i do a lot of embroidery for babies so this brings in a little bit more - little bit!!
I am going to try very, very hard to reduce my monthly shopping bill - i am going to try to make it 20/week including dog food - should help the diet too!!!
My son is really unable to help - he is bringing in about 500+ per month and has a car loan so i dont really think i can expect him to help his old mum! I know that when/if he gets more money he will no doubt help me as it is partly his fault i am in this blinking mess! Mums hey!
Again, i cannot say how grateful i am to you all - you are so kind and helpful and it makes me feel so much better to know there are such folk about!
I have today enquired about CCCS and Payplan DMP's. I have a lovely lady calling me tomorrow from Payplan and have a debt remedy kit from CCCS - any recommendations as to which one to use????? I think - unfortunately it is my only option left under the circumstances! pooh!0 -
Me again, just throwing up an idea that popped into my foggy head. Seen it on the board a few times, but didn't remember. I slept in this morning and didn't have time to iron my shirt - could you do an ironing service? (Not for me though

You obviously feel the need to do it Molly or you'd try something else - I can see that. Post tomorrow and let us know how the payplan thing went? I've no experience with them myself - trying to sort it all out on my own (don't want to become another number to these people!) but I can appreciate its a lot easier to do it that way

Hi there how lovely of you to think of me!!!! Thanks so much, I have decided to go with CCCS and a DMP starting as soon as poss. I have done all my workings out with them and they seemed to be v v professional - as did Payplan but they recommended an IVA which i was v against so I decided to hopefully use CCCS to avoid that. I have had my details through today so I posted all the bumph back out to them today with creditor details etc etc and authorisation docs. Today I also cancelled all my direct debits, organised a new bank account and then managed to do some work!!!! I didnt get a single call from the advert for a lodger (my reputation must have got out - ha ha!) and my car didnt sell either so that was a lot of money spent on adverts for nothing - hey ho nothing ventured........ catch up soon, Moll xxx0
