Making my 1st nappy cake...what do I need?

Hello I am about to embark on my first nappy cake. I have looked at the how to make a napp cake thread and it has given me some great ideas. But I just want to now what the basic items are that you put in them and how many nappies etc and what size should they be?

Also what colour shall I base it on if I dont know if its a girl or a boy?

Thank you xx

Personally if you are unsure of the sex stick to creams and lemons.

How many nappies depends on what size you want. I put a picture in your other thread and there were 27 nappies in that one as I had toiletries in there. I also did this one for a friends baby tonight
There are 45 size 2 nappies in this one (I usually use size 3's but the baby was premature)

Or you could do a small cupcake/single tier which you may well have seen Moonpenny and Shelleys fantastic examples. The choice really is yours.
Stick to neutral clothes and use a yellow or green ribbon to decorate to keep it neutral.
