What happens when jsa runs out

Does anyone know what happens if I don't have a job when my JSA runs out? I am on the income based JSA. I am so worried that I will not be able to get a job. I am applying for jobs left, right and centre, but I hate being a burden to society.

I would like to move to another city, but - 1. Need a lot of money as need to put down a month's rent and bond - probably talking £700-1000. I need to spend that amount (and more) again on things such as a bed, microwave and other things. 2 - I may move there and I probably unable to find a job and 3 - landlords don't want unemployed people as where I live I have only one city and 3 or 4 towns. Whereas if I move, I will move to an area where the public transport is better so I can travel further for less.

I'm not sure what happens when JSA runs out s I have been lucky enough not to need it.

Where are you living at the moment? If you moved out would you get a deposit back that you could use. Are you privately renting.

Have you thought about looking into staying at the ymca they have nice cheap accomodation (so I've been told) or what about considering looking to rent a room.

You could start looking and being interviewed for jobs in your new area of your choice and ask them if they know of any good rental properties. I'm not sure of what field you are in but I know people that will temporarily rent a room for a fellow nurse or teacher etc

I do not see a point in moving first then trying to find a job I think it should be the other way around.
    Good luck

If you meet the requirements each fortnight to receive income based JSA, it won't "run out" :/

Contributary rate runs out after 182 days ie 6 months, but Income based runs as long as you need it. However the longer you are out of work the more the job centre will push you to go on courses. If you fail to attend any courses the benefit can be stopped.

Perhaps a rash statement given the direction the economy is taking...
