Does anybody here have any information about the permanent aa competition (SB/51/08) that was advertised last October? I sat the test in December, but they only sent me the test result a few weeks ago, and asked me to complete security checks. Does this mean I’m definitely going to be made an offer or do they go through pre-appointment formalities with all candidates who pass the test?Well I Love Tv And I Love T. I know a guy that travelled abroad for a year, forgot about the civil service test and 15 months after the test he was offered a post. He was quite happy because he gave up hope on it and coming home from working abroad he had a new job. I came 3rd one time in an NHS interview and was offered a job 9 months later; I didn't even know I was on a waiting list! By that time I had another job and declined; strangely the job I had was in the public sector. I still work in this sector but a different job. From my experience you will probably be offered a job at some point but don't stop looking elsewhere in the meantime or taking on a new opportunity.0 -
i had a test for a job in the jobcentre as an EO (which I passed). The types of questions were: You find £10 on the floor at the end of a signing session and you have no idea who it belongs to. Do you a) pocket the money b) buy cakes for the staff with it c) call up your customers and ask if they have lost something or d) ask the last person if they have lost £10.
They tell you not to put what you think they want to hear but what you would actually do.0 -
Hi, does anybody know anything about the degree holder competition for the civil service. I know I have made the top 32, does this mean I will get a position or not?0

There is another thread on the graduate competition and at least one FM has had an offer of a post.
