Haggling on a dress

I'm looking for a bit of advice on what to do over the price of my dress.

I know what dress I want, its the tallulah (red) at www.katesherford.com but with a few tweaks.
The stockist I have been speaking to say that the designer will make me a dress but with plain white underneath the red and not the flowered material as is pictured and this is exactly what i want (i'm not a flowery person).

The cost of the dress would be £1050, which I am prepared to pay to be honest but I would obviously prefer it cheaper.

What i'm not sure about is given that they would be making it especially (with tweaks) can I haggle? Is it rude to given the circumstance?

What would everyone do?

Thanks

Its always worth an ask... The shop will have a mark up on the dress above the designers cost, they could give you a reduction, they would just be lowering their profit margin.

I got offered £400 off a made to measure dress so they must make some profit!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    oooh, pretty dress!! :D

i would ask them - all they can say is no, and the fact that you are prepared to pay the full amount is necessary means that you wont be losing out on your dream dress!!

Definitely haggle :D . And if you're feeling brave play one shop off another - it worked for me lol. Got my dress half price for £500 :D . Good luck and keep us updated!!
