How is this gonna happen? They wont be cutting mortgage rates, not a chance.
They will keep mortgage rates high and in short term will be moving upwards as they have to raise funds from somewhere.
  • wow... 0.5% suddenly!! that's going to push the FTSE up through the roof. House price crash cancelled??? - NOT!

Interest rates on dwebt will decrease... meaning people will be able to repay debts easier...

But this will create increases in other things on the world stage that we now have little say over:

    Gas, Elec rises:
Other comodoties will rise as our currency is devalued... from these bank funds.

We are in for some interesting times...

Still... all this economic woe and falling house price trend is psychology.. it stop sthe house market dead.. so Im still getting the better end of the deal here... Good job i just fixed me ISA with NR at 6.15% for a year :) and have the HBOS regular saver at 10% before tax... generating my deposit for a house :). Not too affected by this IR cut in terms of saving potential.

Well perhaps they would of if all the western world had not done the same.
It looks like they are working together now.
