First Reply - Your thoughts please

Ok guys, sent my full and final settlement offers to my creditors about 14 days ago and here is my first reply.

Collect Direct - Owe them £535 and offered £150 stating that a relative was willing to pay this amount for me in F+F settlement.

They replied today with letter stating they will accept £401.70.

I naturally am not going to accept it and will continue to pay via cccs for now. My question is, they have put on the final paragraph of the letter...

"If you fail to comply with the settlement terms, the discount offer will be revoked and the full balance will become immediately due and payable"

Am I right in just ignoring the above sentence and carry on paying through cccs, I think its just a scare tactic but wanted to get some advice please.

Can someone help? ;)

_pale_ Sweetie I think they're doing the time honoured DCA thing of trying to "scare up" some more money from you, but if you're really worried then I would speak to CCCS about it.

  • Think I will just ignore the letter, or should I write back saying that its all I am able to offer as it is a gesture from a member of the family and that cccs payment will continue to paid as planned??

I've been in a similar situation and to be honest, I've just ignored their letter and carried on paying via CCCS without informing them. I'm of the opinion if they start getting a***y with me, then I shall say that I've offered them a reasonable offer that they refused to accept, so I offered it to another creditor who would accept it. Their loss.

Cheers mate, so basically just ignore the letter and continue with cccs payments ;)

    Thanks for the info :D
