Mini-Disc Recorder

Hi,
I don't really understand mini-disc's but was wondering whether there are any mini-disc recorders (cheap price!). I want to be able to record onto a mini-disc from a CD and computer. Is this possible?

Yes minidiscs will do this, but they seem to be the sort of thing that people either love or hate. You have to use software specific to the Sony ones - Sonicstage -the latest version works fine. A cheap minidisc recorder wil likely be a non hi-md one so disc capacity is limited and there are supposed to be issues about not being able to upload from md to computer.

You need to know why you are getting one because mp3 players do seem to offer a lot more options these days.

I need one as a car my parents have recently bought has a minidisc player rather than tape or cd. So which ones would you suggest that would be easy to use and that I would be able to transfer music from a cd onto a mini-disc?
