Get up to £80 in vouchers

I have just been to Learn Direct

If you complete Literacy and Numeracy tests Levels 1 and levels 2 you can get £10 for each test you complete and £10 for each test you pass.

This could mean up to £80 in shopping vouchers ( it ends late in December) - very handy for Christmas.

I just got £40 in vouchers and am going out to spend them - vouchers for Boots,BHS,Iceland Index, comet and other stores. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

As far as I know you have to physically go to a Learn Direct centre and enrol.
The tests themselves are done on a computer at the centre.

Whoa, this sounds too good to be true! :o

Are they just going to let anyone take the test? I mean, aren't they going to want to know your educational background etc? ???

(Although for £80 I could conveniently forget about that silly little degree in English lit ;) )

I posted this in a hurry and did not go into a lot of detail as I wanted to let people know about it as soon as possible.

As far as I can remember you have to be thre years out of education and not sat literacy or numeracy in the last 3 years under learn direct.
I am a graduate but still sat literacy level 2 as it was years ago. I also sat numeracy as in Scotland the subject was called arithmetic and not maths.

I am not sure how much they ask but they do seem keen to encourage people to sit the tests.

It could be worth just phoning Learn Direct ( number in phone book) and give it a try.

I can't find anything about it on their website, are we sure it isn't just a regional thing?

Oh yeah, how long did the tests take?

The test itself takes about one hour - before you sit the test you do a practice which takes about one and a half hours. It depends how ready you are to take a test - because I just needed to remind myself of a few maths rules I did both tests this week and pocketed £40 in vouchers.

I am not sure if this is regional or not but think it may be national- could be worth phoning them to find out.

Oh what a palaver... Phoned LD and spoke to two people who didn't have a clue what I was talking about... They did say they'll find out and get back to me but does not sound very promising.

One of the people also said you have to do the course before taking the test - huh ???

Will post if there's any new developments ::)

You do not need to do the course before taking the test - you do need to have your abilities assessed but that only takes an hour or so.

Sorry about all the confusion when I did it today it was really straightforward. ??? ??? ??? ???
