Ok I dont know if anyone will remember but i wrote to MBNA in June this year to claim back my PPI as i was mis-sold and another case the exact same was on the FO website as an example of a sucessful claim.
Just incase.... I took out a £3k loan in January 07 but lost my job in February suddenly (very shocked) but knew something was going on as my manager went quiet and sneaky around me since Dec. Anyway needed this loan and was told i was covered if anything happened in my job eg if i were to lose it, get paid off etc so i happily took this out thinking i would be covered if anything did happen. I lost my job in February and tried to claim to be told i couldnt use it as it was only for redundancy!!
I was struggling and missed a couple but as soon as i started working again( 2 months) I paid in full every month and clearded the arrears.

Anyway I wrote in (start of) June this year and got a letter back on the 30th saying no and that they didnt record all telephone calls (mines was done over the phone) which i expected so i wrote in the second letter and heard nothing.
I phoned them up and a girl told me they had nothing received so i re-sent the letter recorded delivery and 2 weeks later I phoned them up and the girl said it was received and a responce had been sent out. I went on holiday thinking it would have arrived by the time i got back but came back to nothing, I phone them up start of August and the girl said that one was definately sent back but she couldnt tell me what it said  so she would get the letter re-sent./
I still havent have anything although phoning up 4 times after this and getting told it would be re-sent again and again and again but none of them could tell me what it said and i haven't received that second letter???

What should i do now????? I feel im always on the phone to them but not getting anywhere and its costing me a fortune.

Any advice would be great and really appreciated (sorry if spelt wrong)

Thanks

I presume you've cancelled the ppi for now and are just trying to reclaim what you had already paid?

Ask to speak to the supervisor or just refuse to get off the phone till the matter is sorted, see if that gets you anywhere, don't get angry with them though its not the advisors fault :)
do they not have a freephone? my mbna card has a freephone number for customer services

I asked to cancel the ppi but the guy said it was all added on at the start so i wouldnt gain anything by cancelling it now??? Is this true?

No i haven't been given a free phone number for the loans part, I was given a freephone number but it was credit cards so they said id have to phone up the 0870 number and couldnt put me through:( I'll keep trying tho.

    Thanks

I can honestly say i'm no ppi expert as i've never agreed to it lol, but here's a free bump incase anyone else can help. Is there not a dedicated ppi forum on here by now anyway?

You need to write again recorded delivery requesting a copy of the letter that they state was sent out to you. Phone calls are no good in situations like this as you always need a proof of which recorded delivery gives you.

You then wait for the letter and then if this is final response you can then take your complaint to the FOS.
