Is this somehow restricted to only those who are connected via NTL cable?

ntl Netguard is not available to non-ntl customers or to customers who receive ntl Freedom services through a BT phone line.

ow long will it take to download & install ntl Netguard?
It depends on your connection speed:

Approx 5 mins at 1Mb Broadband
Approx 3 mins at 2Mb Broadband
Approx 2 mins at 3Mb Broadband
Approx 15 mins at ADSL 512k Broadband
Approx 1 ½ to 2 hours 56k dial-up
Installing Netguard only takes about 2 minutes.

As a dial-up customer, should I disconnect and reconnect before starting to download Netguard, to ensure I don’t exceed the 2 hours limit?
ntl dial-up connections have a time limit of 2 hours a session, after which the PC is automatically disconnected. a new session can be started again immediately. Therefore - although we expect the Netguard download to take less than 2 hours - it is wise to disconnect and reconnect your dial-up connection before you start downloading, to ensure that your connection is not cut off before the download is complete.

I'm on 2 meg broadband... only took 2mins to download. Didn't know that NTL did ADSL
