Claiming Charges Under Financial Hardship

Hello, I'm just after some information please. I am claiming my bank charges back under the financial hardship law. I have been offered £1915.00 by Halifax which is great. I have now been told that before they can pay that money to me any overdraft facility I have must be brought back within the limit, which is fine, I thought I would only have to give them £217.00 which is what I am over by. They forgot to tell me that when you claim under financial hardship that any overdraft facility would be withdrawn. So now all of the money I would have been getting from them (£1915) is going to be taken straight off me to pay back my overdraft. Normally I would be ok with that but we have a DMP in place which has taken into consideration our overdraft. I know I should be pleased that we have been offered something but to then be told that they are going to take it all back off us again.

Has anyone else gone though this situation. I though a nice lump sum coming up to christmas was brilliant....how wrong was I.
