Thorntons Opened?

Hi,

i ordered some of the half-price chocs of the Thorntons website.

They arrive yesterday.

I was a little concerened though, as:

1 none of the boxes are cellophaned

2 2 of the boxes have had the little "tabs" (actually bits of sticky tape) cut on all 4 sides of the box, so that the lid is loose.

It doesn't LOOK like the contents have been tampered with.

Are other peoples the same as this please?

I don't think they use cellophane - I've noticed this when buying boxes from their shops.

I can't advise about the cut tabs, though.

Hiya!

I received mine on Friday. None of their boxes are cellophaned.

I would email them your concerns about the tabs being cut. In my experience their customer service is pretty good.

i had ordered 8 boxes of 700g and 5 boxes of 350g. Missed the delivery as at work. They were left at the top of my drive, behind the bins, box dropped on its side, open. I had 2 x 700g boxes missing and 1 x 700g open, upside down with its contents all over.

I have emailed them though the contact me on the web and have had a reply to say they are sending out replacements by gold delivery tomorrow

thanks for the replies folks.

I have rung the CS, and apparently they "are aware they have a problem with the tabs on the boxes".

Apparently they are breaking.

So, as long as no-one (apart from me!) has been licking them, then I'm happy with that. :rolleyes:

Wow it's funny you should say this as the tabs were open on one of the bigger boxes of the premium chocs that i bought. thought it was just me!

It happened to me too. My mother bought both me and my brother a box. All of the tabs were broken on mine and one was broken on my brothers.

My mother rang CS and they were happy to exchange at the local store.

Tags were in tack when they were exchanged, but they broke really easily on moving the box about.

just to say have got my replacement 3 boxes today. Good service from thorntons:D

Yes that happened to me the last time I ordered.
The tabs were not closed and some of the choc's
were bashed. The thought did cross my mind that
they might have been tampered with but they
were too tempting so we ate them.:rotfl:

The boxes were a bit bashed, I wouldn't be happy to give
them as gifts because they looked as though someone
had opened them to take a look. They would be ok if
you wanted them for yourself though.
