We are renting a place but it has an old electric cooker that isn't fan assisted. I am sure it will be cheaper for me to get a combi convection microwave. Our old one has given up the ghost.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good one?

Hi CCstar,
You should get more replies on the I Wanna board so I'll move your thread across. There are a couple of older threads on that board that may help so I'll have a look for them and edit the links into this post, but from memory Panasonic microwaves seem to be popular.

I'm very happy with my Panasonic Combi microwave, its been going strong for about 6 years now. I had one problem with the door 2 years in, and they came out and replaced it FOC.
It looks similar to this one, as my model has been superceeded.

We got a Schneider one from Asda's about 5/6years ago, still going strong and was under £100 if memory serves...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I like the look of the Panasonic ones but which is the best model. Is it worth paying more for extras like Panacrunch and Chaos defrost? An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I think it's the NN-CS596SBPQ with 'Steam Plus' @ £350
food cooked in steam microwave retains more nutrition and flavor compared to that cooked in standard microwave ovens,' he added.
The Panasonic GS595A also boasts a highly precise infrared sensor that allows heating till the exact desired temperature. The high performance sensor measures temperature at 152 points inside the oven, and is calibrated finely enough to heat ice cream to an exact -20 degrees Celsius for ease of scooping out.
In addition, the GS595A's combination of microwave heating and steam eliminates excessive fat by up to 19 percent. Microwaves cook the food from within and also dissolve fat, which is then removed by the high temperature steam. The steam function also facilitates natural food defrosting, thawing the frozen extraneous layers to enhance microwave penetration.
It's got a water tank in it, also no turntable for greater capacity.
NN-CF778SBPQ (£240) is same without steam, NN-CF768MBPQ is same as 778, but 'metallic silver finish' rather than s/steel
NN-CT776SBPQ is same without drop-down door, NN-CD757WBPQ and NN-CD767MBPQ are same model but different finish
NN-CT857WBPQ is a 32-litre model, as is NN-A873SBBXQ
NN-A554WBBTQ and NN-A574SBBTQ are white/stainless 'slimline' 27-litre products
You'll find the microwaves cheaper on ebay
