Where to get a loan when you have defaults?
hi, i have about 7 defaults on my credit history all of which are now settled but still there due to the 6 year rule.
I have a loan with my bank but the interest rate is high, i believe this to be due to me have a CCJ at the time which i later found out about and had removed as it was from a car crash and shouldnt have been on my record.
so have just 7 defaults.
i am looking to pay off my original loan (about £5000 according to the bank) and take another £2000, so £7000 in total, over about 24months.
My bank will not extend my current loan (c..beep musnt swear lol)
So who can i look to for a loan? i want/expect an interest rate below 15%apr.
Or should i just keep the original loan and use my credit card for the £2000?
any advice welcome.
ps heard the co-op do loans according to your lifestyle not your credit history might look into this.
pps, other info you might need
No landline telephone number in my name, its in my parents.
I am on the electoral role
Living with parents
In a steady well paid job
Plenty of spare cash, can effectively pay off £2000 in four months if i had too

With your credit history you will only get sub prime loans. What is the APR on your bank loan? If its below 20% then thats pretty normal in your circumstances.
You say you can pay off 2000 in 4 months and have spare cash, so why do you need a loan. If you cut back on spending and pile that 500 pm into debt clearance you will clear that loan by next xmas.
