I think you will now be entitled to legal aid, please do check in the morning, you need to get this sorted out a.s.a.p. Call the CAB or your solicitor. Have you spoken to the lender? What are they saying? Are they being helpful? If you are divorced, what did the divorce settlement say about the house?"Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place." — Abigail Van Buren0

How about taking in a lodger?? ok not ideal but might fill the gap and give you time to sell the place.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

Hiya Elise,
I'm sorry I have no idea of timeframe but really do feel for you. You know, one thought I had was to tackle the OW and make sure she knows what's happening to you because of their affair - but I can understand why you might not want to do that.
Regardless, I'm here for support if nothing else. Hope things improve.

Please do seek some legal advice before you concede to Repossession. If your savings are now down to nearly nothing, I think you will qualify.
Find out if you qualify for Legal Aid:

No, Legal Aid is usually Free but to my understanding is dependent upon your financial situation, ie No more than £X in the bank. The best thing to do NOW! is to do a search on Google for lawyers that deal with matrimony cases and work on 'Legal Aid' cases.
A good start would be to ask the solicitor who carried out your divorce if they do Legal Aid work if not ask them who does, before going to look for another as they will have all your facts etc.
Your solicitor may for example be able to hold back Alliance & Leicester while you consider your options, what you need is extra time but you won't get that unless you get professional help now. If you are unemployed at the moment with little savings then I am reasonably sure a Legal Aid practicing solicitor will be able to help you. Also use Google, type in Legal Aid,UK and see what comes up. Go to your Citizens Advice Bureau, just start the process and don't give up!
