Connaught - Statutory Demand.

I've received a letter from Connaught telling me that they intend to to issue a SD, and if I fail to contact them within 7 days an SD will be issued without further warning. Should I ask for a CCA? They are acting for 1st Credit in regards to an old Barclaycard account debt for £900. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi Beverley
I know nowt about it I am afraid, a spot of googling returned this: http://www.netlawman.co.uk/info/statutory-demand.php
I have no idea how reliable that website thought so I wouldn't necessarily take it as gospel.
This is less detailed but from the more reliable payplan: http://www.payplan.com/debt-library/court-orders-statutory-demands.php
It is probably worth giving payplan a bell to see exactly what you need to do, it does seem rather a sledgehammer for a £900 debt sized nut.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
