Is remortgaging worth looking at in current market

Just wondering if you guys think its even worth trying to remortgage in the current climate?

We cam off our 2 year discounted deal some time ago and are now paying the Alliance & Leicester SVR, whatever that is.

I remember it used to be that if you wanted to save the pennies being on the SVR was a sin, but maybe that is no longer the case as remortgaging to a discounted deal may actuall cost more with the fees etc?

Don't want to be tied in as we may sell soon (or at least try!).

If you dont want to be tied in, you could look at going onto a fee free tracker with no tie-ins for the time being, then jumping onto a fixed rate if and when you spot one. Im sure there are others out there, but HSBC and First Direct both do ones that are fairly competitive.

It is always worth looking into - however as you are looking to sell soon it may not be worth the hassle
