Bradford Bingley , outstanding debt

my wife , some years ago had her house reposessed by bradford and bingley, she has been paying £50 per month to one day clear the shortfall when the house was sold at auction, now it would appear that tax payers money(her money) has been used to nationalise the bank, can we claim some off her outstanding debt as she/all of us has bailed them out?? thks
