Halifax Mortgage Equity Calculations

Hi,

I have a mortgage with Halifax, and have been using there site to check the amount I currently owe on my mortgage.

I wondered if anyone had noticed a massive change in the amount of equity the site said was available for their property?

For some reason mine went from 16k down to 5k just over the weekend?

    No, mine is the same - £105,500 which is ludicrous as in reality £80,000 would be pushing it.

    I think they are estimating a fall in house prices.

    Seems like a reasonable thing to do in the current climate!
