O.K. Another thught to run by you all.....

I have been thinking about writing to my mortgage co and bank, to ask them if they would be willing to give me a 'payment holiday'.....say for 3 months. The idea would be to 'tack on' the missed payments to the end of the loan terms. I have the mortgage,a bank personal loan and the CC....(these are the 'big 3'). I'm not hopeful, but do you think it's worth a try or should I just stop all the payments and go straight to bankruptcy ??
The one that could cause me the most trouble is of course the mortgage co..... i.e. having the house re-posessed before christmas ! . (Already missed 1 payment).

What do you think ??

Its worth a try and its a good idea to speak with them sooner rather than later.

Jayen, if you've never payed water rates you're going to be in for a nasty shock one day. May I suggest, as you're going BR anyway that your ask your water company for a bill now, this can then go into your bankruptcy and you'll start afresh from the day of your BR. Water rates don't just go away they'll catch up with you sooner or later, and if it's after BR you'll be liable for the debt.

Really do listen to PP on this one. I got bitten by a £900 water bill after discharge from a property I had lived in 3 years earlier.

Find out your local water provider and give them your move in date and get that bill before going BR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck - I hope you get things sorted!
