Done something stupid - lied on application form

I've realised I've done something very stupid. On an online application form (for a a job I'm really keen on) I have given a wrong current salary. I put it on there at first as didn't want to put on my current salary (which is very low), but then I thought I'd change it or add it than it includes bonuses, but I forgot to do it and just sent it off.:o
Now I'm really worried that I've screwed things up for myself. Do you think I should do anythiing about it?
I thought that maybe if I do hear from the HR dept about an interview I could say to them about it then ('please note that the current salary stated on my application form incorporates additional bonuses etc')...
I do realise I've been a total idiot, so please don't point it out!:o

TBH, I'd not be worried about that. I can see why you've done it, especially if the pay being offered for the job you're applying for is for a range rather than set. If they see you've worked for a low salary, they might be willing to take a punt you'll work for the bottom end of the range.0

You have simply included bonuses/the financial equivalent of additional benefits. Isn't that what the question meant???0

In my last application (for the job I'm in now), I put that my salary was £X. That was actually my full-time salary plus my part-time (15 hrs a week) salary
But both jobs were for the same employer so I guess I was only stretching the truth slightly!
Of course, that meant that my new job was £X + £4k, and no more part-time work necessary.
Your exaggeration sounds very minor to me, and very unlikely to be an issue - chill out and concentrate on the next stage of the applicationMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
