Facial lazer Dermabrasion

Just wondering if anyone has been through this before? I had an appointment with NHS Plastic Surgery department to see if anything could be done for my skin. They took one look at me and said I take it you had very bad acne when you were younger which was a shock as my GP said it did not look too bad. Any way I have some pitting over my cheeks and discoloration they said the only thing that works is lazer dermabrasion which will reduce the pits but do nothing for the dark patches:eek: apperently chemical peels ect do not work. They have offered me lazer dermabrasion but said I will be bright red for up to a year and it may not camoflage too well for work. Has any one been through this and if so what was your experience please:A

Sorry to be nosy, but was it hard to get a referral? Is it just your face you're bothered about?

    Hi,

I recently had PPX Laser treatment and I found it very effective at reducing my acne problem. The thing I'm confused about is that I've never heard of Lazer Dermabrasion; I'm assuming it's a blend of the two treatments? For getting rid of scarring, I cannot recommend ROCS Micro-dermabrasion System enough. It retails for about £40 at Boots but TK Maxx recently stocked it for about £16. It's something you need to do a few times a week but it's truly amazing. I had really bad scarring which the Laser didn't help, but I've been using the above system for around a month now and I don't even need to wear make up anymore. It's brilliant. Let me know what you decide to do and how you get on :)
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
  • if you do go for the treatment theres a camouflage make-up called lyco gel which is really good its more pure then mineral make-up and its esp for post peel and laser treatments and it heels the skin.

its bout £50 for about 6 weeks worth thou.

Hi FabSascha I actually bought this very product yesterday, I bought it from Savers (kind of like a superdrug but cheaper) it was on special for £9.99! Only used it once so far and noticed my skin was softer already! :D

Not at my local Savers Claire, BooHoo.
Shot off down there, they know nothing about it and no website.
    Will try Ebay.

  • That's the one! It's bloomin' brilliant. Remember every so often you have to replace the pads and the cream that comes with it (if you hunt you can usually find it cheaper in warehouses etc) but it's definitely worth trying. I love it; I'm sure you will too!

Hi yeah it's really good, have you had to change your pad yet? I just wondered how many times you can use the one pad before you should change it. I know the instructions say you should change after a months use but i suppose it depends on how often you use it.
