How do I get rid of thread veins on my face?

Hi

I never leave home without wearing thick foundation because of my red face, especially cheeks. Is there a cream that can be bought over the counter rather than on prescription to help rid me of these tread veins please?

I have not seen my doctor and would feel a bit of a time waster if I did but have suffered for long time hence the foundation everyday. Please don't say I should see my GP and ask to be refered to a dermatologist. By the way I am middle aged ;)

I presume you mean thread veins rather than tread veins ;)

Just google thread veins and you'll get some decent advice there......
  • Hi pj
I had this problem & found out it was due to something called Rosacea, it is treatable via your GP. Just google Rosacea or check out this website for info http://www.rosacea.org/index.php I got a very good information pack from them which was free....now you have to give a donation for countries outside the USA.

With cream & antibiotics (as well as self care stuff) my Rosacea has gone now. Some of the thread veins remain, but my skin is so much better now. I don't have to wear make up & use cover sticks all the time as I used to. Apparently it's very common!

    Hope this helps :)

Why on earth wont you see your doctor? Its a health issue, its causing you some stress and upset - you have every right to see a doctor and get a true diagnosis and treatment plan.

Very red skin like that can be down to so many things it really is a good idea to let your doctor take a look. if you dont want to go especially then add it on to an appointment for something else.

I was self treating myself for years till I spoke to the doctor - turns out my redness id due to a fungal infection tat just keeps reoccuring - but least now I am treating the flare ups correctly

If you look through the threads here you will see one on mineral make up - go take a look, some of us find it gives great coverage without the heaviness of a normal foundation
