awwww cute cat! what's his name?
I am trying to decide whether to go to bed or I kid myself that I will find something absoltely-earth-shatteringly-amazing by surfing the net.0 -
His name is Echo, he is adorable, but very mischievous at the same time!!
I know what you mean, I love just browsing through these threads when I should be getting on with uni work! I'm even thinking of buying a slow-cooker and a breadmaker!!
How's the no new clothes challenge going? It must be really difficult to not even allow yourself a cheap top from Primark once in a while!! xx0 -
Oh don't, I have a paper to write that I should be working on... only written 1000 ish words today.
ha ha yes, I do miss primark, I mean REALLY miss it, but it's ok once you get used to it. The rules are that you cannot buy brand new clothes, accessories, bags, ANYTHING related to fashion... but, you can buy second hand, and you can make your own. I do find it easier though if I just don't buy anything at all, so I have been making stuff instead.
I love siamese cats, they are so clever!
Slow cookers are great, I've just got one and trying to get used to it. My OH loves (possibly more than he loves me?) his breadmaker, although it is my enermy as I can't eat bread. Have you looked in argos in store? they're doing loads of cooking appliances really cheap.0 -

Yes, I shall have a look in Argos maybe tomorrow if my OH doesn't go into work. He is really keen to get one as apparently you can do roast chickens in them? And he loves roast chicken!! Do you find you save money with the slow cooker? And is the bread you can make in breadmakers cheaper than buying bread?
Siamese are great, they are my favourite cat breed by far, although sometimes it is a little like owning a big furry baby. Mine started "shouting" at 4am the other morning for no discernable reason other than wanting my attention!
You are very brave/talented/creative to make your own clothes, I would probably look like I'd had a fight in Hobbycraft if I'd tried!!
What are you studying btw? I'm studying nutrition. xx0 -
I believe it is cheaper to cook with a slow cooker, but I haven't worked out the numbers... there's lots of info on the old style board (love that board). My OH swears that it is cheaper to make your own bread, but I am dubious about this!!
You're studying nutrition? in that case you're my new best friend!! ha ha. No, I have so much issue with food, it's unreal. I study/teach computing. BORING!
wooo you're doing the NSD challenge too. gosh I find that challenge so hard, everyday something crops up and money leaves your wallet.
Don't worry about your cat, my OH's cats do exactly the same, and they are not the clever siamese sort...0 -
Oooh - thanks for the info about the cooker/breadmaker, I think I'll check out the old-school boards to see what people say. At least I don't have to knead the bread like in the old days! I've only started the NSD challenge for the first time this month, so we'll see how I get on - that's why I chose the lowest possible target! It is hard not to just buy a cup of tea or a paper somewhere, more out of habit than anything I guess.
If you have any 'issues' with food please feel free to PM me and I'll advise you the best course of action/who you can see about it. I'm only learning though so if I take a couple of days to get back to you, that's why! Computing isn't boring - at least you'll be geared up to make a bob or two!!
Glad I'm not the only one with mental cats! He's settled down now though so I'm off back to bed. Lovely chatting to you hun. xx0 -
hope you get a quiet night sleep (unlike my sleep when I sleep at OH's place with the two noisy cats!)0

i am so glad i am not the only one awake. have back problems and so sleep little at night, well sleep little in day too come to think of it. my husband left nearly 3 months ago and trying to get out of habit of staying up even later as he used to leave for work at 4am and we used to have cup of tea and a bikkie together before he left so 4 am is still a heard time for me. even though i should be busy hating him as he has left me in 30k of debt which is another reason why i am up and reading the boards. have been on the bankrupt site for a while but cant decide what to do for best. one agency says a dmp another says an iva while initially i was told to go bankrupt it seems that now i am getting help with rent etc i have disposable income so now just awake and worrying. only 2 months behind with payments and half of debt isnt being chased for at all at moment anyway as it is tax overpayment and as they giving me child taz credit now they said they dont want to make my situation any worse than it is so have passed me to hard up section. anyway that is my story, is anyone else awake?0
