the problem isn't with electrics per se

I'm never fully convinced - even with the fuse removed from the box and everything tested prior to touching - that it's still not live. So you're right - the problem isn't with electrics per se, it's with me :D

Apart from getting a lot more done today than in the last several weekends combined, it's been fairly unrandom - but no less enjoyable for that! Like I said to my wife earlier, the days when we could get up at 7am, get a load of stuff done (still working on our house) and have the rest of the day free by lunchtime vanished as soon as our daughter was born...and she replied that so have the days when we could stay in bed until lunchtime. Swings and roundabouts :)

On a complete sidenote, since randomness is the subject, every month in the village I live we have a second-hand book sale to raise money for the local society; everything is 50p unless very special. At the last one, I got the Inspector Morse complete box set for...drum roll...£2. They have the same one in the local charity shop window for £24. To sell or not to sell? Haven't read them all yet!

  • Ah - this is why I stick to the pets rather than children - they don't mind so much if I have a lie in as long as they then get a nice walk and a fuss (the dogs) and the rest just, well, don't care!

Hmmm a while £2?! How many you got left to read?

@GunJack - I'm pretty sure we've chatted before - the conversation involved zombie films IIRC!

@Pepper - 12...started the first one tonight. Had a decent-sized stack of other books to work through. Everything gets read in arrival order, to be fair to...er...my book buying habit? :)

  • That probably makes sense. I on the other hand just grab a book - I confused myself recently by reading some in a series the wrong way round! Me, ditzy, never!!!!!!:rotfl:
