overseas mortgaging

Hello,
Does anyone know if it's possible to take out an overseas morgage to fund a UK property? Taking advantage of lower interest rates.

  • Just to add, I have googled for this, but I only seem to get results from the search If I want to buy abroad, which I do not. Any ideas please?

As far as I'm aware the answer is no.
  • Well, according to this article this is/was possible, but very risky.

You would be speculating on exchange rates as well as property prices.

  • Ok thank you, I was thinking more along the lines of if it was possible to borrow from the US, due to it's lower rates, I guess that it's not possible.
