i have about 8 yrs on a final salary pension i have upped my hours to 30 per week now the children are older-i originally joined my employee pension may 1994 when i was 26(before this i gained 10 years worth of pensions wth 6 employees)-over the next 20 years i think its going to be a good idea to buy added years
how much will it cost per month-i just wanted a rough idea
is it the sooner i add extra years the better or shall i wait 10 years when both children have left home
how do i go about tracing my other 6 pensions as i havenot got any imfo apart from rough dates when i worked for them
i know this is a big ask but you are all so fantastic on here
kind regards

The cost will depend on:-
1) Your age
2) The number of years you want to buy
3) The exact terms of your pension scheme
Final salary pensions are usually damn good value and if you have the opportunity to buy extra years it's generally a good move. The general rule is the more years you want to buy and the older you are, then the more it will cost.I should contact the scheme administrators to find out more info.
As for tracing your other pensions,if you know the names & addresses of the companies concerning then contact them direct - a simple Google search might do it.
However you may find problems if any of your past employers have changed hands or gone bust, etc. So you could try The Pension Service instead
