My friend has back problems and wants to visit a chiropracor. Has been quoted £55 a session. Money is tight and wants to know if this is the going rate and can anyone recommend one in Lanarkshire.

Sorry, can't comment either on the cost or suggest a practioner in Lanarkshire. has yr friend had xrays? full medical consult? firm, known diagnosis?
Personally (I've chronic degenerative spine condition) I'd never see a chiropractor without knowing 100% certainty that manipulation wouldn't result in damage...
My opinion is humble, personal and strictly non-medical, btwStill waiting for Dyson to bring out a ride-on hoover...Memberships:

I can highly recommend Blaser Chiropractic in Park Road in Glasgow. I've been going to her for 7 years and she's so unlike the scammers out there who make you sign a direct debit and go every month. She sees you, assesses you and then suggests how long you need to go for - when you're done she won't see you again unless she really needs to or you feel you want adjusted. The norm I think is about 3 sessions but it really depends on what's wrong with you. I think she charges £40 for initial consultation and £35 for each consultation thereafter. The phone number is 0141 334 1211 - the practice also includes a holistic therapist and a dentist.0

I go to Shawlands Chiropractic on Kilmarnock Road (0141 649 6333). They are pretty pricey (£45 per session for an adult iirc) but they're outstandingly good, very patient and understanding and don't do anything without explaining cause and effect.0

I've never needed him as a chiropractor, but we live in the same street and , he is a really nice guy. He's always busy, so he must be good....

Sorry not Lanarkshire, but Glasgow. The Buckingham Clinic, Great Western Road. Its a block along from Byres Road. Mr Sneddon there is great. I have been to him on and off a few times over the years.0
