This week I learned about Epistemology and Ideology. My understanding of the subject of epistemology is that it is the study of how we as individuals understand things and how different societies and individuals can differ in their own understanding and knowledge of the same subject matter, when we look at Ideology we are looking at the study of a group of individuals coming together with a belief in a common purpose for example Christianity, feminism, socialism. The concept of both Ideology and Epistemology isn’t new to me however the names are, the terminology within the subject matter of ideology is also new to me and took me quite a while to understand, At first I found the discussion of ideology confusing and sat wondering what was being discussed yet I understood it all once
explained it to us but until then I felt very confused and out of my depth as I just didn’t know the names and words used.

I am pleased to say that the subjects of both Epistemology and Ideology sit very well with myself, I did infact find this class to be very re-affirming for me as it sits very well within my own personal belief system, which was quite comforting for me and if anything this confirms to me that I have chosen the right path within my current educational needs. I am very much looking forward to this course and the new insights, challanges and experiences I will have along the way.

    ok this any better?
