Newbie here so go gentle with me
My darling wife would like to do work on voluntary basis to help out in her local community ..But .. she is in receipt of DLA /IncapB
Honest truth she cannot start a "proper" job but feels this could help with self confidence and pride and moreover a purpose and structure to her day. Doesnt need money.
Could anyone with benifits knowledge tell us where to look/ask if this can be done (wouldnt like to do anything wrong and end up in trouble for a few hours helping)
Thank you all

Hiya, i'm in the same situation & as far as I know, it's fine as long as it's unpaid, but it might have to be under 16hrs a week i'm not too sure. I'll ring up Monday to check cause i'm applying for tons of voluntary jobs, but i'm pretty sure as long as it's unpaid & not over 16hrs (Maybe) it's ok! Will update when I call them but i'm sure tons of people here will know & reply

Ask CAB as your sickness could be called into question doing Voluntary Work. You could be playing into their hands if going ahead as strict rules claiming!
I hope you can do what you want without trouble.0 -
