Londoner wannabes

Hi y'all

This week's time out is the most excellent London on the cheap, hundreds of ways to get the most out of the world's third most expensive city for less, including a very humourous article about going out for only a tenner. I'm in an all day meeting today but if I get time I'll post some of the tips later.

have just moved back to London and had forgotton how great it is.

I went to the National Maritime Museum on Monday and had a picnic by the river. A great FREE day.

Haven't read the magazine but here are my favourite sub-£10 activities in London:

    Free
Museums - Science Museum, Natural History Museum, V&A etc etc etc
Art Galleries - most are free other than special exhibitions
"Window shopping" and trying all the free samples in Borough Market/Harrods Food Hall/Selfridges Food Hall/Fortnum and Mason
Walks along the river and through the parks - I've walked through Hyde Park in almost all imaginable weather and lighting conditions and it's lovely in a different way every time.

    Under £10
Standing room at the Royal Opera House/balcony seats for orchestral concerts at the Royal Festival Hall or Barbican (shame you can no longer get sub-£10 tickets for the English National Opera - you used to be able to phone up on the day and sit in the gods for £5. One year it was £2.50!)
Movies at the Prince Charles Cinema

Bet this discussion gets moved to Local MoneySaving.
