Wedding Present/Hamper Ideas - PLEASE YOU LOVELY PEOPLE :D

Hi all.

My brother is getting married in just under 2 weeks. They have 2 kids, and don't really get time to themselves. So seeing as they will be alone on there wedding night/the morning after I wanted to do something for them in the form of a hamper.

So far i've thought of doing a little breakfast in bed hamper, as i've got some bucksfizz, and glasses. Was planning on putting some chocs in the glasses, and giving them some strawberries and croissants, (sp?) but what else could I put in a morning breakfast in bed hamper?

I also was planning on putting some towels and bubble baths, candles, wedding soup" - a form of the snowman soup? with some chocolate spoon stirrers. I've bought a little cheap photo album.

But the problem is i'm just not sure what else to put in. I know my brother would like a little movie theme as they only really get time together at night, as they both work, and aunty emmy, me, looks after the 2 wee darlings. But i was planning on doing that for his xmas.

Help please, any ideas - greatly appreciated :)

oh and i'm on a really tight budget :(

    How about silky nightware
A CD of romantic mood music
    A soppy romntic DVD
And to be on the safe side something to stop any more little darlings coming along if you know what i mean!?!?!?!?!?

  • oh yeah i forgot to mention that. - i was going to put them in but do you think it would be cheeky? i was thinking with it being so busy etc, they may well forget them that day! i know that they are still using protection, they are certainly in no position for another child, so i guess it would be a good idea to put them in thanks for reminding me hun :)

What about those small pots of Jam you can get.
Also if they really dont want to get out of bed put a knife and plate in the hamper.

    What about some massage oils!

    Oh just had another idea.

On my wedding a friend of mine got me a lovely notebook and got everyone to write us a note or message in it . If you can get this done before the Wedding you could slip this in , it was great fun and lovely reading all the comments everyone wrote to us in the morning.

In Morrisons you can get 5 miniature pots of Jam for £1
    Some fruit juice
if you have easy access to ikea they do a lovely small vase called smartnig for 39p
    69512_PE184566_S4.jpg
perfect for just a couple of flowers (fake ones maybe coloured in the wedding theme?)
    A pack of bagels
    some cream cheese
    some pancakes & maple syrup
    A pack of strawberries?
    some cream?
a small box with some naughty things in - condoms, a silk scarf? (to tie each other up?) a blindfold but all in the box so kept discreet so as to not embaress anyone?
You could set it all out on a tray and then cello wrap.

Most of the above are very cheap from supermarkets I would say you could probably do all the foody items for around £5 possibly a little more?

    Hope this helps a little.

Remember condoms can be got free from family planning clinics

  • Hi all.

Thanks for all the ideas again.
Well the wedding was on saturday and i did got ahead with my original idea... my sister in law is a very hard person to buy for and to please, she is very set in what she wants etc etc, so it was a surprise, infact i nearly chocked on my tea, when she said out of all the presents they received she liked ours the most, basically because we put thought into it instead of putting it into an envelope. She also said she found it exciting finding the things that i'd put in. hehe -

i'll just give a run down of what i did,

I had 2 hand towels, white, basics from tesco - 68p each
2 red flannels 19p each tescos = said they were glad for this because the hotel never had any?
    dove body wash - £1
    lily body wash - £1
    Baby oil - tesco basic - 38p
Grow your own message romantic plant - £1
Love die - out of a valentine cracker i think - just left in a the box.
2 large cherry bath bombs from au naturale, 40p each
box of candles with crystal bases - £1
    photo album £1
Quickies book by tracey cox - £7.99
(covered that layer with the towel and face cloths as to be discreet)
survival kit - bits and pieces put together.
dedicated a star - found it on here somewhere
what happened on there wedding day certificate - again found on here
2 glasses - bought as pack of 4
    bucks fizz - £1.99 = lidls
    choc truffles - 50p - morrisons
    Pancakes wrapped in cellophane
    scones wrapped in cellophane
2 x romantic cd made up on the computer,
some candles thrown around the basket
    hip flask for my brother
    5 mini jams

there is probably a few other things i've forgotten, but it did look good on the day thankfully.

My husband was a little peed, because he wished he'd got one on our wedding, said he wouldn't have ventured from the hotel room if i he did lol!

just shows that you can do one of these baskets for anyone even if they are hard to get - i'd like to thank all the guys and girls on here that inspired me to do this!

    you are all stars!
